Fraxel Laser Services Dallas
This novel fractional approach to laser skin treatment represents leading-edge science and an exciting category of cosmetic skin surgery. Fraxel laser skin resurfacing offers Dallas/Fort Worth patients the positive results of ablative resurfacing with the low-impact benefits of non-ablative therapies. Unlike older ablative lasers that remove the top layer of skin, the Fraxel procedure produces tiny, microscopic sites of thermal impact separated by areas of unaffected, healthy tissue. The spared healthy tissue between treatment zones contains viable cells that promote rapid healing of the outer skin layers. The Fraxel laser was granted market approval by the FDA for skin resurfacing procedures in March 2005.

Fraxel offers the benefits of speedy healing and minimal or no downtime for each of the 3 to 5 treatments, spaced 5 to 7 days apart. Side effects are minimal and typically involve swelling and redness. Mild swelling should subside within a day or so, and redness usually fades over several days. Patients can apply makeup immediately after treatment and return to their normal daily activities. There is limited, if any, risk of infection or scarring. No oozing or crusting has occurred.
For patients who have undergone acosmetic procedure to reduce the telltale signs of aging, their faces may look years younger, but their untreated hands, neck, shoulders, and chest often tell a different story. That’s because in the past, there was no effective treatment to improve aging skin on the rest of the body. Now the Fraxel laser, with its proven track record in fractional resurfacing of photo-damaged skin, is being used successfully as a full-body resurfacing treatment.
Treatment is well tolerated and feels like a prickling sensation. A topical anesthetic ointment is applied prior to treatment to allay any discomfort.
Patients continue to notice improvements in the treatment sites for up to 3 months. We have experienced extremely high levels of patient satisfaction. Fraxel treatments are performed at EpiCentre, our medical spa devoted to the latest in cosmetic medicine and laser technology.
